To celebrate the release of their film, "Heima", Icelandic group Sigur Rós made available extra footage for people to download and edit as their own.

Judges consisted of members of the group with the assistance of Nick Fenton (editor of Heima), Dean O'Connor and John Best (managers of the band) and Dean DeBlois (the director of Heima).
My effort was chosen as one of 10 winning entries out of a total 146 entered films, and as a result featured on the front page of Youtube for a number of days. As of January 2nd, 2009 it has been viewed over 130,000 times.
The entry also took off on Vimeo, where it has been viewed more than 9,000 times. Vimeo is geared towards original user created content. "Minn Heima" was featured on the front page and chosen as a Staff Pick.

“Wow. This is why we worked to support HD. And this is why we work so hard to support Vimeo. Just outstanding. And this is why I believe that the future of music video online will be inexorably intertwined. Outstanding creation.”
— Jonathan Marcus, Vimeo Staff
